Chinmaya Mission – Showing the path to spiritual growth-
One such organisation which helps people across the world achieve emotional and spiritual clarity is the Chinmaya Mission. The Mission was established in 1953 by the devotees of His Holiness, Swami Chinmayananda, a world-renowned Vedanta teacher.

“On a Quest” is a biography that depicts the life of Swami Chinmayananda. The movie depicts how Swami Chinmayananda, who was born as P Balakrishna Menon was always a curious child. He grew up to become an inquisitive journalist, a rebellious youth and a patriotic freedom fighter. The movie charts his transformation to a spiritual leader and depicts the trials and tribulations he faced on the way.
“On a Quest” is a multi- faceted movie. It helps us get inside the mind of a man who always has questions about things he sees around him- from suffering, to death, from joys to eternal peace. It charts the spiritual journey of a man who was an inspiration to his followers who later formed the Chinmaya Mission.
There is much to be learned from this movie as it is not merely a documentary. The beautiful and vivid imagery that the movie presents, makes everyone feel like they experienced the journey firsthand and hence are touched in one way or another.

Just as Swami Chinmayananda was a global individual with a spiritual bent of mind who inspired the formation of Chinmaya Mission that works towards making people culturally aware and tries to make a difference in the lives of people in our country. In the same manner, Arya Gurukul aims to be an institution which promotes global awareness while being rooted to our Indian culture and traditions. Arya Gurukul is grateful that it can continue to spread the word of a great man like Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda who spent his lifetime “On a Quest” to spiritual liberation.
