There was excitement in the air in the month of August, as Arya Gurukul prepared for Manthan 2018, an Education Today Foundation initiative which was a two day Art, Craft and Science festival held on 14th and 15th August. The festival catered to various categories like Poem recitation, Collage and poster making, Model making, Street theatre and Debate competition, bringing science and aesthetics together to be showcased on one platform. The Theme for this year was ‘HIVE MIND’, which represents an entity of multiple people who openly share their knowledge and opinions which may lead to a collective intelligence or uncritical conformity. These ideas lead to innovative thoughts which seeds on the thought process of solving present problems for the future.
The festival received a good turnout and participation from 17 schools and over 2000 students. The program kick-started with the inauguration at the hands of Kalyan- Dombivali Municipal Corporation Mayor Ms. Vinita Rane, whereas the prize distribution was carried out on 15th August by our esteemed guest, Member of Parliament (Kalyan) Dr. Shrikant Shinde.
Manthan was a one of a kind festival to be carried out at school level with the aim of promoting scientific thinking and application of science. The event highlighted the immense knowledge and capabilities possessed by the students from some of the best schools in Kalyan and Dombivali regions. The judges were impressed by the creativity and innovativeness portrayed by each and every participant.
Mr. Bharat Malik, Chairman of Arya Global and Ms. Neelam Malik, who represents Education Today Foundation, was excited to be present and hosting this massive two-day event at the premises of Arya Gurukul school.
Each category had participants from different Grades right from the 1st grade to the 12th grade. The grades were divided into Group wise and different topics and themes were given to each group depending on the level. It was heart-warming to see students as young as the 1st grade participate and perform with equal enthusiasm.
Needless to add, the students and parents appreciated the program as it not only adds knowledge but also builds confidence and skills needed for success in life.
