Arya Gurukul School, Nandivali took part and joined the Government of India initiative – “Swacchata Hi Seva”. As a part of this initiative, the NNC cadets of Arya Gurukul School, Nandivali organised a Mass Public Awareness Cycle Rally- “Mega Swacchata Pakwada” on 28th September 2019.
The Rally began with a Swacchata pledge, where students of Arya Gurukul and other members of society pledged to keep their surroundings clean and eliminate the use of plastic. Various other activities such as Street Play, Distribution of cloth bags, Swacchata Cycle Rally, Street Cleaning Program near the school were conducted.
This mega cleanliness event was made possible by the participation of 23 (JD & JW) Cadets along with other members of the Arya Gurukul school team such as ANO Mr. Jitendra Pawar, CTO Mrs. Bhairavi Nair, Sports Director Mr. Deepak Varma , Co-Curricular In -charge Mrs. Geeta Nair, Admin Head Mr. Anup Nair, Mr. Sumedh Sawant and other members of the school staff.
The students carried Placards with meaningful messages such as “Clean India, Beautiful India” and “Do Not fight, It’s our duty to Maintain India’s beauty”. The Cadets went around talking to people, spreading awareness and reiterating the importance of maintaining clean surroundings. They shared ideas on proper disposal of plastics and greener alternatives to plastic use. Some even took brooms to clean the streets. The street play was both engaging and enlightening.
Such events and activities bring out the true nature of education. The NCC cadets of Arya Gurukul were happy to be a part of this event which contributed towards making a difference to society, They pledged to continue spreading awareness and applying the thoughts behind “Swacchata Hi Seva” in their day to day lives.
